Be a energy maker not a energy taker

With that being said yes we all create energy every second of each day. The key is what type of energy are we creating? I believe the key is creating a positive energy maker. If it's not positive then you become a negative energy taker. There are warriors victims and villains and the victims and villains are energy takers. So today be a warrior and keep your guard up for the energy takers they are everywhere. The great thing is when one realizes we attract what we think and feel then all we have to do is focus on all the good positive people places and things in our lives. So enjoy today and the only thing we can change is today. Keep life simple like the native people did for thousands of years.

The Surfboard is what makes the Surfshop

So what Êmakes the surf clothing industry become a billion dollar business. Of course marketing or is it conditioning. I believe the surfboard always comes first because the surfboard creates the surfing life of the surfer today. The one thing that separates any so called surf shop is the surfboard. Go into 90 to 95% of any surf shop around the world what is the one thing most of them have in common? The one thing most of them have in common is they all carry 2 to 5 of all the same name brand surfboards and clothing companies. The shops that manufacture there own name brand surfboards and clothing are the real surf shops which are becoming a lost art and a dying breed. ÊIf your only looking for a good deal that's one thing but isn't the quality and the function of the surfboard even more important? If your looking for functional surfboards that work and more importantly shaped by a surfer who surfs everything let alone rides everything then look no further and stop in and check a surfboard gallery that is carrying on the tradition of the past into the present surfers of today. Thank you for your support and thank you for choosing surfboards shaped by a surfer.

San Clemente Surfboards & Art by Paul Carter

I'm excited to say the first shaping and painting video is coming soon. The first one will be of me shaping a 6'3 twin fish style surfboard with a cool looking paint splash as well. The board is 6'3 21 by 2.50 center. This is a board after a 6ft I have been riding at trestles the last 3 to 4 months. I wanted a little bit more plaining speed and paddling for the long rides at trestles. So stay tuned I'm hoping to have it on a blogg in the next week or two with a surfing segment on the board as well. Thank you all again for your support and good energy. Stop in anytime to talk boards.

Qualty custom shaped surfboards by Paul Carter

So tell me people what is one of the most important points in purchasing a new surfboard? Most people would say price but most people that are only looking at a good deal don't necessarily care or are concerned about who shapes the board or where it comes from. So with that being said from my own experience most of the surfboards that i enjoyed came from shapers that surfed. So I get people that walk into San Clemente Surfboards & Art and are only looking for a good deal and I asked them whats more important getting a surfboard that works for you or just getting a surfboard at a good price that is not suited for your ability? My surfboards are made in the USA and are HAND MADE not from a mold or from a country that pops them out for profit period. I have been shaping Surfboards since 1993 and stopped counting at 6200 surfboards over 8 years ago. I grew up riding everything from heavy classic long and short boards all the way into the rebirth of all the modern twin fins, three fins, four fins, five fins and single fin. I'm consistently researching and surfing many different surfboard designs shapes and fins. My surfboards are made for each individual and there ability and where they like to surf. My surfboards are shaped from many many years of surfing experience and hundreds of thousands of hours in the water riding everything from 5'9 all the way up to 9 to 10ft plus surfboards. I build custom hand shaped surfboards for each and every individual for ALL ages and any size surfboards. So if you are only looking for a good deal then please don't waste my time and your time. If you you want a great quality hand shaped surfboard at a very reasonable price then please come in and will be more than happy to take the time to build your custom surfboard. I don't know to many shops you can walk into and talk directly to the shaper. So if you ready and willing to get a functional surfboard made for your weight and ability and the waves you like to surf then come into SCS and check out what we have and order a custom surfboard that will work for YOU. ÊDare to be different and have the courage to ride a surfboard that is shaped by a surfer. ÊI ride everything from short to long and everything in between so anyone that's says i only shape longboards are misinformed and don't know me or my backround at all. ÊEnjoy the ride of life one wave at a time and remember you can't surf if you cant catch the wave.

Toll Road Surfing in San Clemente

Toll Road Rejected on Appeal

December 18, 2008 Print

NOAA News Release
The Department of Commerce today upheld the California Coastal CommissionÕs objection to a proposal to construct a 16-mile toll road connecting California state Route 241 to Interstate 5 in southern Orange and northern San Diego counties.
The commission objected to the proposed project under the federal Coastal Zone Management Act (CZMA) on the grounds that the toll road was not consistent with the stateÕs coastal zone management program. Under the CZMA, federal agencies may not issue any permits required for a project if a state has objected, unless the Department of Commerce, on appeal, overrides the objection.
The Foothill/Eastern Transportation Corridor Agency (TCA) appealed the commissionÕs objection to the Department of Commerce in February, triggering an administrative review process that involved written briefs and arguments by the parties, input from interested federal agencies, tens of thousands of written comments from the public, and a 10-hour public hearing in San Diego County.
Under the CZMA, the department may override an objection onlyif no reasonable alternative to the project exists and the proposal is consistent with the objectives of the CZMA, or if the project is necessary in the interest of national security. The department determined that there is at least one reasonable alternative to the project. The department also found that the project is not necessary in the interest of national security.
TCA may pursue another route for its proposed toll road that the commission determines is consistent with CaliforniaÕs coastal zone management program, and TCA is not limited to the alternative proposal described in the departmentÕs decision.
Since the enactment of the CZMA in 1972, the department has acted on 43 appeals, upholding 29 objections by state agencies and overriding 14.
NOAA understands and predicts changes in the Earth's environment, from the depths of the ocean to the surface of the sun, and conserves and manages our coastal and marine resources.

Surfing Lowers on San Clemente Surfboards

Surfing Lowers on San Clemente SurfboardsThis is a research and development day at trestles on my new San Clemente Surfboard. ÊI met up with my good friend mike aka chewy at 7ish at my store. This day I was feeling like riding a round pin so I picked out a 6'5 three fin by either 19.25 wide or maybe 19 and at least 2.3/8 thick. ÊWe drove down El Camino Real to basilone to check it out and it was Id say 4 to 6ft swell happening at the infamous trestles skate park. The crowd was not to bad when the swell is pretty consistent. ÊForgive me for the short blog but this is my first photo of many many different shots from surfing to surfboards to shaping to art. ÊSo stay tuned for the next blog and remember what we think and feel becomes real. ÊÊ

The Soul of Surfing Through Life

Why do YOU surf?
Think about it people WHY.
and what is it that makes you get in the
water year around in all types of waves and conditions. For me surfing is like meditating. It's a spiritual energy that is not very easy to describe. Surfing has kept me balanced in my life for many years and many more to come one day at a time. I enjoy shaping and riding my own boards because it keeps me even more in contact with the art of riding waves through life.
So as the saying goes in shaping measure twice and cut once. The same goes for speaking your mind. Much more to follow from art of shaping to the art of surfing.

The Journey of Surfing and Shaping

I was very fortunate to learn from steve bahne the basics of shaping. He is a master shaper that can shape any size board out there. in summer of 1995 I was shaping all kinds of boards for people of all ages. I have met some very interesting people all around the world from france to Japan and many places in between. For one summer I worked with Mark Johnson shaping hobie surfboards. It was a busy summer and i shaped and signed 80 boards for hobies that summer which I believe was the summer of 1999. Stay tuned for the step in my latter of life.
